MagicaLCore

Can I really train a model on an iPad?

Yes. MagicaLCore trains entirely on your iPad’s chip. No Mac, no server and no internet connection are needed to train.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Building, training and testing a model takes no code. You only need code to use the exported model inside your own app, and the guides show how.

What kinds of models can I train?

Six: image, sound, tabular data (CSV), text, hand pose and hand action classifiers.

How should I prepare my data?

Put the examples of each class in their own folder, named after the class. For tabular data, use a CSV file with one column for the value you want to predict. More examples, more variety and similar numbers per class usually give better results. The quality of a model always depends on its data.

Can I stop a training and continue later?

Yes. Pause a training and continue it later from History, right where you left off.

Which iPads are supported?

Any iPad with an M1 chip or later, running iPadOS 26 or later. MagicaLCore is not available for iPhone or Mac.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Your datasets stay on your iPad. The free version shows ads; the Privacy Policy explains what that involves.

How much does it cost?

MagicaLCore is free to download and try, with all six model types. Pro costs $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year in the United States, or a single lifetime purchase. Prices vary by country or region.

Swift Playgrounds iconBuilding apps with Swift Playgrounds

What is Swift Playgrounds?

An app from Apple for iPad and Mac where you write Swift code and build real apps with SwiftUI. It is free on the App Store.

Can I build a whole app on iPad?

Yes. In Swift Playgrounds you write the app, run it right on your iPad and can send it to App Store Connect to publish it.

How do I use a MagicaLCore model in my app?

Export the .mlmodel from MagicaLCore, add it to your Swift Playgrounds or Xcode project and load it in your code. The Use your model guide in MagicaLCore shows the code step by step.

Do all models work the same way?

Each model type is used a little differently in your code. The Use your model guide in MagicaLCore covers every type, step by step.

Can I learn to code from zero?

Yes. Swift Playgrounds includes Learn to Code lessons that teach the basics of Swift with puzzles, before you build your own app.

Can I move my project to Xcode later?

Yes. An app project made in Swift Playgrounds can be opened in Xcode on a Mac when you need more.

What is the Swift Student Challenge?

A yearly challenge from Apple where students submit an app playground they made themselves. Winners are recognised by Apple. A model trained in MagicaLCore with your own data can be part of your project. MagicaLCore is not connected to the Challenge, so read the official rules for that year.

Do I need a Mac?

No. You can train in MagicaLCore and build the app in Swift Playgrounds on the same iPad. To publish on the App Store you need a membership in the Apple Developer Program.

MagicaLCore EDU for schools

How do we buy licences for many iPads?

Through Apple School Manager. Schools that buy 20 or more licences get 50% off.

Is it a subscription?

No. MagicaLCore EDU is paid for once.

Can we try it before buying?

Yes. Write to us from your school’s email and we will send an invitation to try the app with TestFlight, Apple’s app for testing apps, together with the trial guide and its first exercise. The full teacher’s guide and student notebook come with the purchase.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Models train and run on the iPad.

Is student data uploaded?

No. MagicaLCore EDU collects no personal data, shows no ads and does not track anyone. Datasets and models stay on the iPad.

Are there lesson materials?

Yes: a trial guide, a teacher’s guide with six solved exercises and rubrics, and a student notebook, in 13 languages. The teacher’s guide and the notebook are sent with proof of purchase, with the school’s name on every page.

Can students build their own apps?

Yes. They export a .mlmodel and add it to a Swift Playgrounds project, all on the same iPad.

Can students use it for the Swift Student Challenge?

Each year Apple runs the Swift Student Challenge, where students submit an app playground they made themselves. A model a student trains in MagicaLCore EDU with their own photos, sounds or data runs offline and can go inside that project. MagicaLCore is not part of the Challenge or connected to Apple, so students should read the official rules for that year and mention the tools they used.

What’s the difference between MagicaLCore and MagicaLCore EDU?

Both train the same six model types. EDU is made for schools: paid for once, with no ads, no subscriptions and no accounts, volume discounts through Apple School Manager and teaching materials. Its terms are accepted by the school.
