Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

In short: MagicaLCore EDU shows no ads, does not track anyone and has no analytics inside the app. There are no accounts and no sign up. Training happens on the iPad, and nothing is sent to the developer. For any question: contactus@magicalcoreapp.com

1. Introduction

MagicaLCore EDU is an iPad application for schools that lets students and teachers train machine learning models (image, sound, tabular data, text, hand pose and hand action) on the device. It is developed by an independent developer (hereinafter, "the Developer").

This policy applies only to MagicaLCore EDU. The Developer may update this policy. Changes will be published on this page with the date of the update.

2. No ads, no tracking, no accounts

  • MagicaLCore EDU shows no ads.
  • It does not track users across apps or websites and has no analytics inside the app.
  • There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for.
  • The Developer does not receive any personal data from the app.

3. Training data and models

The images, audio, videos, texts and CSV files used to train or test a model are read from the location chosen in Files and are processed on the iPad. They are not uploaded to the Developer or to any third party.

The app keeps on the iPad the information it needs to continue a training later, including the features it extracts from the data, so a training can be paused and resumed from History. This information stays on the iPad until the training is deleted from History or the app is removed.

Finished models are saved inside the app with the details entered for them, such as project name, author and description. If iCloud is enabled on the Apple account used on the iPad, saved models can be synced through that iCloud account. The Developer has no access to them. Apple manages iCloud under its own privacy policy, available at apple.com/privacy.

When a model is exported, the .mlmodel file is saved wherever the user chooses in Files and includes the project details entered for it.

4. Camera and microphone

The camera and the microphone are used only to test models:

  • Camera: live testing of image, hand pose and hand action models.
  • Microphone: recording and live testing of sound models.

Camera frames and audio are processed on the iPad and are not sent anywhere. Both permissions are optional and can be turned off at any time in the iPad's Settings or through the school's device management.

5. Files

The app asks for access to the files and folders the user picks, to import training and test data, import existing models and export the models created.

6. Purchases

MagicaLCore EDU is bought through the App Store or through Apple School Manager. Payments are handled by Apple. The Developer does not receive payment details.

7. Use in schools and by students

MagicaLCore EDU is designed to be used in class, including by students under the supervision of their school. The school decides how the app is used and supervises its use by students. The app does not collect personal data from students or teachers.

Schools should ask students not to train models with photos or recordings of other people unless the school's own rules allow it and the necessary permission has been given.

8. Laws for schools and children

Because MagicaLCore EDU collects no personal data, shows no ads and does not track anyone, schools can use it in line with the main laws that protect students:

  • COPPA (United States, children under 13): the app does not collect, use or disclose personal information from children, so no parental consent is needed for data collection. Schools can authorise its use in class.
  • FERPA (United States): the Developer does not receive, store or have access to education records or any student information.
  • State student privacy laws (United States, such as California's SOPIPA): no targeted advertising, no profiles of students and no sale of student data.
  • GDPR and UK GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom), including the extra protection for children's data: the Developer processes no personal data from the app.
  • UK Age Appropriate Design Code: no profiling, no nudges to share data and no location tracking.

Each school remains responsible for its own obligations, such as informing families and deciding how the app is used. This section is a description of how the app works and not legal advice.

9. Contact by email

If a school or user writes to contactus@magicalcoreapp.com, the email address is used only to answer that message. No unsolicited communications are sent.

Free trial with TestFlight. If a school asks for a free trial, the email address it gives is used to send an invitation through TestFlight, Apple’s app for testing apps before they are released. During the trial, Apple may share with the Developer the information described in Apple’s TestFlight terms, such as the tester’s email address, the device model and system version, crash reports and any feedback the tester chooses to send. This information is used only to run the trial and fix problems. TestFlight itself is run by Apple under its own privacy policy. The trial is meant for teachers and school staff; students should not be invited as testers.

10. Rights

Under the GDPR, anyone may request access to, rectification or deletion of their personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. Because the Developer does not hold any data or models from the app, they can be deleted at any time from the app's History or by deleting the app.

11. Cookies on this website

This section applies to www.magicalcoreapp.com only, not to the app. The website uses no cookies unless you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. If you accept, the site may load Google Analytics to count visits. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

12. Applicable law

The Developer processes personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the other privacy laws that apply, including those described in this policy.
